There are ten work packages defined for the TripCom
project:
Work package 1 - Storage (ONTO,
pdf): this work
package defines the abstract model, the architecture and the interfaces for
storage within TripCom.
Work package 2 - Triple Space Knowledge Representation (FUB, pdf): this work package deals with the issues
of representing semantic data models such as RDF and OWL/WSML efficiently and
consistency within a Tuple Space. This covers modeling the tuples as well as
the Tuple Space semantically and devising an efficient distribution scheme for
sub-spaces.
Work package 3 - Triple Space Interaction (FUB, pdf): this work package deals with the
analysis and standardization of a Linda-based language for semantic-aware
Tuple Spaces (i.e., the Triple Space) as well as the definition and
implementation of semantic-aware matching rules. Finally, existing RDF query
approaches and the template-based approach will be compared so that users of
the former can have easy access to the latter.
Work package 4 - Triple Space and Semantic Web services (USTUTT, pdf): the goal of this work package is to
actually link the efforts of TripCom and Semantic Web services. In particular
we will - based on the tuple representation of Semantic Web technology such as
WSMO described in WP2 - define TripCom-based service
discovery, communication protocols and communication co-ordination. Interfaces
to allow Semantic Web services to communicate over a Triple Space will also be
sought.
Work package 5 - Security and Trust (CEFRIEL, pdf): the objective of this work package is to
provide the theoretic foundations and its prototypical implementation of a
mechanism for establishing an end-to-end trust mechanism between dynamically
discovered actors within a business process and to ensure the security of the
information written to the Triple Space. This shall be a crucial acceptance
factor and unique differentiation aspect for TripCom.
Work package 6 - Triple Space Architecture and Component
Integration (TUW, pdf): this work
package designs and implements the basic conceptual foundations and
technological building blocks required to set up TripCom infrastructure by
considering the necessary extensions or changes to traditional Tuple Spaces.
Its main focus is the implementation of highly scalable coordination patterns
based on the tuple based infrastructure.
Work package 7 - Ontological Infrastructure for Business
Processes and Data (NUIG, pdf): the aim of
the Ontological Infrastructure is to offer a means for a semantically rich
definition of business processes for the express purposes of overcoming
heterogeneity problems. The concrete goal will be to ontologize the current
standard EDI/EDIFACT as a basis for business to business process integration.
This process will allow business data to be represented as RDF triples for
inter-business interactions. This work package will also look at the
relationship between EDIFACT and other standards such as UN/CEFACT (CCTS -
Core Component Technology System) and ebXML.
Work package 8A - Use Case 1 - Enterprise Application
Integration (TID, pdf): this work
package takes the results from WP1-5 through the integration of the results by
WP6 and an ontological approach for EAI as developed in WP7.
Work package 8B - Use Case 2 - Sharing health and medical data
among healthcare organizations (CEFRIEL, pdf): this work
package takes the results from WP1-5 through the
integration of the results by WP6 to test TripCom
infrastructure for an application that is focused in exchanging patient
records among healthcare organizations or among different units within the
same organization: radiology, cardiology, neurology, etc.
Work package 9 - Standardization, Dissemination &
Exploitation (USTUTT, pdf): this work
package will provide a continuous technology watch on emerging standards in
Internet Technology, Web services Technology as well as standards and formats
used in Business Process Integration. Besides standardisation activities, this
work package is also installed for dissemination which will happen in three
phases: 1) set-up; 2) populate; and 3) update and enhance the contents in
close collaboration with the SDK
cluster. Finally, this work package deals with the investigation of
potential application areas and upcoming market opportunities for Triple Space
Communication.
Work package 10 - Management (LFUI, pdf): the management work package is
concerned with keeping the project on course, that it is effectively and
correctly managed financially, that its progress and status are efficiently
and effectively monitored, that the required reporting is prepared and
delivered in a timely manner, that all quality assurance aspects of
the project are fully and correctly addressed, and that the infrastructure
supporting the web-based facilities to be used for dissemination and
central intra-project communication and cooperation are hosted properly.
